It's actually a saute pan, but I use it as a skillet. I like the high sides, skillets are shallow. The cooking surface is great, and many times can be wiped clean with a paper towel. My Cuisinart skillets were 10 years old and the non-stick surface was gone. Everything was sticking. They needed to be replaced and I got these in 10 inch and 12 inch. I really like the convenience and thet cook really well.
