biOrbStarfish Rock Ornament

The item itself is lovely but unfortunately we order this item twice and both times the item arrived damaged. It is screwed to the base of the bottom of the packaging and appears the item is ripped off the bottom and then gets knocked around in the plastic tube box and causes damage. Such a shame. Hopefully in future the packaging will be reconsidered with bubble wrap/air wrap to help avoid this happening .Not the sellers fault, just the way it is sold in the tube box , otherwise this is a lovely item so still gets 5 stars

So glad I chose this ornament for our 30L Biorb. It is simply stunning and quite large, but perfect size for the 30L.I must say I was hesitant to order due to other reviewers saying parts of the Stars broke off during transit, however I was impressed at the packaging when it arrived.I should not have had any concerns whatsoever as the ornament arrived securely inside a plastic container, with bubble wrap all around the plastic, then inserted into a perfect fit cardboard box and lastly put inside final good size box.Cant wait to insert into the new tank to see what it looks like!

I love the intricate detail on the rock and starfish, however it does make cleaning the ornament more complex… apart from that it’s great :) and I added some Anubias to give some extra life to it 😌

EDIT: I reviewed this in March (original review below) and was very unhappy. It’s now April and I’m livid. Do NOT buy this. In the last 3 weeks, after dealing with huge amounts of hair algae that appeared shortly after putting this in my tank, things started going black, like a sooty tint on the glass, on the ceramic material, plants etc. Couldn’t find any idea what it could be. I’ve just cleaned the tank and started scrubbing the ornament - due to the design, all the MANY nooks and crannies are hot spots for algae, I bought a small brush (think baby sized toothbrush) to get in them without damaging the stars (as people mentioned how fragile they are) Now, this brush is not hard, it is gentle enough to rub algae off plants without damaging them, yet when trying to clean this ornament THE COLOUR IS STRIPPING STRAIGHT OFF! So the ‘soot’ was the paint dissolving in the water! Horrific!Original review: Start with the most important thing - typical BiOrb: beautiful to look at but badly designed.I had a poorly molly that was euthanised as a result of the gaps between the shape of this item and the bubble tube. She was unwell but had been improving until she got wedged in a gap, most likely due to flashing. I found her in the morning, still alive, and gently extracted her but she was no longer able to swim or stay upright, she had damage to her scales, gills and eyes, I guess from struggling as she was trapped.Secondly, I don’t know if I received a secondhand item or it’s something to do with the materials but since adding it to my tank 3 weeks ago, I’ve now got hair algae forming all over it. This has been the only change to the tank in several months; other than losing the molly and I doubt she was keeping the whole tank clear by herself. Either way, the beautiful grey ornament is now green.Most of the stars for this item are due to packaging, because it was extremely well packaged, but I really regret buying it and it is definitely not worth the price. In fact, I used a gift card but even paying half the cost, it wasn’t worth it.

Love my item can't wait to change the look of my orb, it was well packaged it came in a box within a box and bubble wrap and in this seald tub i hav'nt removed it yet but all is great and looks fab too.

Attractive item - however quite brittle and it was damaged very easily when I left it unattended with the cat having cleaned it? Also blocks the filter a bit!

There's space between filter & ornament (15ltr tank) for fish to hide

Very satisfying to view. Coordinates with the shells. My biorb is a fantasy of a fish tank. If you need to escape from your life for a bit, these tanks are an amazing way to bring a new way of thinking into your world. Just stare at your orb daily for 15 minutes. Biorb will take you away far better than calgon.

I like this product but it had two large holes in the bottom of the package which normally would keep the ornament secure from moving around. No sign of the missing pieces so it was broken before being shippedExamine it closely for broken pieces

I wish the designer of this would make more in this size. I have a small 2 gallon Betta bowl and LOVE this. Safe and beautiful. All the other stuff is too tall. His products are so well made and I never have to worry about sharp edges to cut my Neelix's fins.
