Ideal for short hair, many portions in a set. The Just for Men stuff looks much more artificial. But 1) you have to really really really shake it, 2) make sure all the dispenser tubes are thoroughly rinsed out and unclogged, and 3) 30 min is clearly on the short side. As for facial hair it would take way way longer to bite. **Q: After having it on 20 minutes, the foam is still white. Is this right?** A: NO. I have used light blond for years. It's important for the white foam to be worked completely and thoroughly into the hair such that it is not seen as white. This way, the color takes well--ie no white foam should be showing if applied correctly. And, for best results, make certain you keep shaking the can throughout the coloring process. Also, some "complaints" have said this product does not cover gray very well. Since I have some gray, my advice is to make certain you are leaving the product on long enough (ie longer than non-gray hair) as gray hair takes longer to color than non-gray. Also, for gray-root touch-ups. leave the product in these gray areas on longer than the hair that has already been previously color-treated. Example: Start by applying on gray roots only, wait 10 minutes, then apply to the rest of the non-gray "ends" for the following 20 minutes. This gives the gray roots 30 minutes, but only 20 for non-gray areas. You kind of have to experiment for timing a few times to see what works best for your type of hair. Also, if gray hair isn't coloring, likely not enough product is being placed in this area and/or the product that is placed there, is likely not being left on long enough. **Q: color does not mix properly** A: It mixed well for me. My hair came out looking great. You probably bought a defective one or didn't properly follow directions.
