**Q: Where are they made?**
A: Mine lasted almost 30 years and were abused! Bought Channel lock brand as both Crescent and Craftsman is now China crap.  BUY Channel Lock as they are 7 dollars more and not junk

**Q: will these cut a saltwater grade fishing hook?**
A: Yes - in a heartbeat! These are 8 or 9" and if it just for cutting finishing hooks, a good 6" set will be perfect and easily stow-able in a tackle box.

**Q: Are these pliers spring loaded, aloowing them to open up completely without assistance? If so how strong is the spring? Will my hand get tired w/ use?**
A: The pliers are a 1/3 Lighter Than Standard Pliers, Reduces Fatigue

**Q: Is this plier/snipper made in Taiwan (R.O.C.) or in China (mainland) ?**
A: Mine are just marked Crescent with the part number PS5429C. The quality of the cutter is such I doubt it is from China. Mine keep getting stolen they are such good cutters. I use mine on copper and aluminum wire mostly.

These are good strong gripping and cutting pliers. Way better than non double fulcrum types which are a waste of time.

Good snips for taking down an old barbed wire fence. Annoyingly the closing mechanism soon became a bit wobbly and fiddly to apply. You want to be able to close it easily - with one hand and shove he snips in a pocket. hence 4 stars not 5.
