You can grow these plants without co2 but it is recommended so you should also consider dwarf sag which is easier to grow and is also a similar looking carpet plant **Q: Is it necessary to siphon gravel where you have this planted?** A: I would avoid gravel vacuuming as you may suck the plants up they are small **Q: Snails can carry parasites like camalanus that can wipe out a tank what kind of snail and how sure are you they do not carry parasites?** A: These are grown via tissue culture so it is extremely unlikely to receive any snails plus camallanus worms are not super common I’ve never experienced them in the 10 years I’ve been doing this and for what it’s worth we have over 250 tanks in our warehouse. In general, all plants no matter what will have at least some risk of snails or hitch hikers unless they are tissue culture plants so you should always do an alum dip just in case. It's used at 1 tablespoon per gallon of water.
