They're much too thin.However it looks the part, is hefty and makes a satisfying clink/clack when closing and locking. I put this on my shed as an additional and visible lock to reduce the likelihood of opportunistic thefts. Plus whenever I take my bike out or bring it back (it's always locked and bolted inside too) there's a good clattering of steel which sounds like the lock is mightier than it actually is. This has to be a good thing.Anyway, it's cheap, it's very heavy duty and it will do a secure job. Quite a lot of play in the hinge, which is useful if installing on a door that isn't quite flush, although does make it all a bit rattly.The included screws are rubbish, which I kind of expected but still -- would be clearer if they just didn't include screws, as in practice you do need to supply your own.
