I'm not a hiker or trekker - I wear the boots to make deliveries and put a few thousand miles on a pair going through moderate terrain and nasty weather. The uppers always give up well before the tread is gone... We'll see how these (new) Michelin soles wear... To be Honest, I wasn't very happy with the later model's (V +) sizing and quality control, going so far as returning my next-to-last pair (VI?) for a refund. I saw the VII's and liked the price so I decided to take a chance. So very glad I did. They're perfectly sized, no fraying or stitch "tags", everything well glued without over"squish" between the sole and upper and fully sewn-in lining. I put them on and THEY FIT PERFECTLY. I'm really impressed with the turn-around in quality and value with the Altitude series hikers. In my experience, these boots, as a whole, are truly comfortable from day 1, wear well, grip everywhere and, did I mention, they're comfortable. I highly recommend them, especially for daily wear.

I've worn hiking boots for work for years. My career path changed for a little while and took me into the office but now I'm back in a position that does have to go to the field quite often. I'm still in management so these boots aren't going to be heavily used but I still need something I can get dirty if I have to. These boots fit perfectly. I wear a 12 or 13 depending on manufacturer. I got a 12 in these and they're great. I have a narrow foot so a normal D width is usually a little wide but these aren't that bad. The footbed is very comfortable with lots of support. It's taken 2 weeks to get them broken in and my feet did hurt during that period. However now that they are broken in, they're very comfortable.
