## Description

From the manufacturer Silverline 124799 2050W 1/2" Plunge Router 240V With its powerful 2050W motor, the Plunge Router packs a powerful punch for woodworking, furniture-making and kitchen fitting. Supplied with five different collets, you have the luxury of using a wide range of bits to get your desired result. Featuring a handy soft-start function, you'll have power straight away whilst minimising the unpredictable, involuntary movements that other routers may deliver. Technical Specifications Collets (1/2", 1/4", 8mm, 10mm & 12mm) Variable speed & soft start 50mm plunge depth with fine adjustment dial & 7-stage turret stop 21 & 30mm guide bush plates Includes parallel, circle & roller guides & measurement bar The speed of this unit is variable via the effective control dial. This is invaluable and allows the tool to cover a range of tasks and applications where a specific amount of power is required for different bits or finishes. Continuing the tailorable nature of the router, the plunge depth is also variable thanks to a precise fine adjustment dial, allowing a range of selectable depths between 0-50mm to provide total user control. Inserting and removing bits is a straightforward operation thanks to the safe spindle lock, which prevents play and twisting of the unit, as well as accidental engagement. Furthermore, accidental engagement of the 6000-24,000rpm no load speed is unlikely thanks to the safety button, which needs to be depressed at the same time as the soft-start switch. This prevents damage to the workpiece or, worse still, injury to the user. The kit includes a parallel guide bar, roller guide, circle and template guide, 5 x collets, 2 x guide bush plates (21 & 30mm) and a spanner.

Review: Great value and powerful - This is a budget router no doubt when you consider a Trend will cost over £300! but you get a lot for your money. Bought this to initially install a kitchen worktop. Have now done three as well as numerous other projects that needed 1 1/2"router. Plenty of power a as long as you set it up properly and use good quality bits it works fine. My thoughts on buying it were that if I got a tear out of it and did all of the projects I had planned it would be good value. It has been going now for 3 years with no sign of packing up so a great buy. Not sure if you were using it every day as a trades person if it would last but if you need this type of router for a home workshop I would say it will be fine based on my experience with it!
Review: Excellent plunge router. - Great product and excellent price.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How long is the warranty?**
A: Hello,You get a 3-year warranty on the product when registered on silverlinetools.com within 30 days of purchase.Kind regards

**Q: Looking for a router with 150mm base to fit router table. Will this fit. Or can you recommend any?**
A: The base measures 190 x 155 x 20mm. The best router I have ever purchased and I've had a couple of Bosch units. If the dimensions are ok go ahead and buy one, it comes complete with spare collets and it just eats it way through the toughest timber.

**Q: This router ruined our kitchen worktop due to bit popping out during operation. Who will pay for our new worktop?**
A: You will I suppose. Failure to tighten the collet or check its tightness is down to the operator.

**Q: Can this router be mounted onto a router table?**
A: yes i do believe that silver line do a router table to accomodate it

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Silverline 2050W router for kitchen worktop job
*by M***B on 14 November 2010*

I bought one of these routers 3 weeks ago to use to fit new kitchen worktops. It did the job. Comments:- 1. Fantastic value for a router with this power. 2. Quality of the main components like the motor and bearings seems fine. 3. Quality of fittings like depth gauge, parallel guide etc. is not so good. Already the depth gauge index conrol has been out twice to be greased and rebuilt. However, quite honestly this router has paid for itself on one job, and is still perfectly serviceable. 4. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the Trend 30mm guide does not fit. What I did was to buy a set of plastic guides from B&Q (Trend again, but different to the Amazon offering),and hacksawed the plastic either side of the 30mm guide from this set (so that what was left would clear the opening in the router bottom plate), drilled two new holes in the plastic and bolted it to the metal 20mm guide supplied with the router. I then bolted the whole assembly to the router using the holes for the 20mm guide. Not very elegant but it worked fine. 5. Also used Faithfull kitchen worktop router bit set and silverline worktop jig. All worked fine. 6. Doing kitchen worktop joints like this is not for the fainthearted!
