The sturdy all-steel construction keeps your monitor display safe and secure, increasing the stability of your entire monitor display. It could be used on fragile or thinner tabletops when heavy duty 3 or 4 monitor mount is installed. It decreases centralized desk stress by dispersing the weight across a larger surface area (the main bracket measures 10” x 6.1”). Besides, the steel plate fits almost all c clamp. The 2 anti-slip pads is included to protect desk from scuffs and scratches. Installation is a fast and easy process, just need to align the brackets to the C-clamp. Tips: when installed on glass or ceramic desk, the plate should not be used for MU7003, MU7004, MU7005, MU7006. But MU0002,MU0004, MU0005, MU0006 and others is OK.

**Q: How thick are the plates?**
A: I don't have exact measurements but they are only maybe 1/3 of a cm thick or so. However they are very sturdy, and I believe the bigger one (that mounts on top) if not also the bottom one have a soft surface that contacts the desk, so a tiny bit of added thickness there.
