Easy to mount. Made it through the winter without cracking. The plastic did not yellow. Only drawback is the numbers are a little hard to see. Review: UV resistance is paramount for me - I have had so many rain gauges that have simply disintegrated - The rain gauge is really easy to install and the volume of water in the gauge is easy to read, especially when the gauge is held up to the light. Numbering is bold and easily read by an old codger like me. Being able to slip the gauge off and back onto its plastic mounting piece is a great design solution. Our sunlight in South Africa is harsh and a good idea from a friend who also bought the same gauge is that during our dry season, the gauge is kept indoors and a protective cover (an old, used tin will do) is placed over the plastic mounting piece to protect it from the sun's UV rays. There was no water in it.
