Need to define a subtle, elegant looking barrier for temporary events? The Davidson Hinged Portable Vinyl Fence Kit is designed to stand alone on a flat surface and can be easily moved as necessary. Our innovative hinged design allows for multiple configurations of this fence kit to provide whatever barrier you may need. The Davidson Hinged Portable Fence Kit is designed to be a psychological barrier and should not be used to keep children or pets safe. The fence post sits on a portable foot, making it easy to move based on your changing needs. Each panel includes a connector bracket to attach it to adjacent panels. Each kit comes with materials for one panel. A Zippity Hinged Portable Fence Finishing Post (search item code ZP19063) must be purchased to complete your fence run.

Review: Works great to block off a wide open area by my deck steps - I have a very wide area by the steps on my rear deck. I wanted to block most of it off and add a vinyl gate so my dogs couldn't run out into the yard as soon as I let them out, to give me a chance to check for gophers and bunnies in the yard before I let them out. I added two of these fence sections and a vinyl gate from the same manufacturer and it is a great solution! The heavy feet mean I don't have to drill into my new composite wood deck; the fence pretty much stays put but I will eventually add something to slip in between the boards to help keep the fence in place even more. Assembly was super easy even though it took about 20 minutes each. I am really happy I found these - it was much better than using an indoor baby gate out there because they rust and the paint runs off of them (I've tried them before). This is vinyl so it will last as long as my fence railing and other fences do. They were a great value, too.

**Q: Do you sell the brackets to attach the fence to a 4x4 pist**
A: Hello,

Thank you for reaching out!

The brackets used for the Hinged Portable fences will only work with the posts designed for the product. They are sized to fit in the post channels. They will not be able to be attached to a 4x4 without additional materials like L brackets.

**Q: Can I drill this on pavement?**
A: Thank you for your interest in our Kensington Hinged Portable Fence! The metal feet for this panel have routed holes on either side to make securing them easier. As stated in our Installation Guide:

Soft ground: Purchase 1/2" diameter
rebar spikes or similar stake and
drive them through the holes in the
foot to further secure the panel if
needed.

Hard surface: Purchase 1/2"
diameter lag bolts for wood surfaces
or concrete wedge anchors for a
concrete surface to further secure
the panels if needed.

Although these are optional installation methods, please note that this product is designed to be portable for temporary events or as a psychological/aesthetic barrier and not a physical one. We do not recommend our free-standing products for serious crowd control or for pet or child safety.

**Q: How do the hinges work? Can it be used like a gate?**
A: Thanks for reaching out! 

The hinges go into the channel of the post to allow for a secure connection that gives you freedom to install the fence at any angle. I suppose you could leave off a post on one end and add a wheel to the bottom of the panel for support to keep the fence from sagging or tipping over. That being said, we have not tested this option and do not know if it is viable or not.

We bought this to help keep our dog in the yard and it does great! Thankfully, our pup doesn't try to jump up on it otherwise it would fall over for sure but I'm sure you could buy some sort of anchors to drill to the home or structure you're blocking it for. The space in between our house and garage was an awkward width to install a fence that wouldn't be too pricey and this fits perfectly!! We purchased the second post for it to secure into and used heavy bricks to hold it in place. We love this little fence, especially for the price!
