The clasp feature on the side seems very sturdy, so hopefully it will keep the rice safe in case of any future spills. I noticed that when completely filled with rice, the container does push out a little from the front and back. This caused the lid to be a bit longer compared to the box when I tried to put it back on. However, I managed to get the lid back on fairly easily, and I believe once I have eaten some of the rice, this issue will resolve itself. As for the mouse scoop, I am not sure if it will fit back in while the container is full.
