It has an outlet where you can plug in a power supply to take the place of the internal battery. I dont think you can recharge the battery thru this outlet. It takes a nine volt battery and it will last a long time. **Q: Will this work with an electric bass?** A: yeah, with any electric guitar as long as your "electrics" are up to snuff, meaning my 1960 Harmony Les Paul edition needed some wiring upgrades to sound excellent.
