**Q: Do these lock in at a specific width?**
A: Yes they do lock at a selected opening but they are not like a mole wrench, you hold them tight on a nut with hand pressure, like the usual pump pliers
**Q: Would the smaller of the two be too big for nipping up the pipe in a showere unit, or am i being extremely optomistic??**
A: Yes, the smaller one is suitable for nipping up the pipe in a shower unit.
**Q: Will I be able to squeeze/flatten 15mm copper pipe with these?**
A: I would imagine so, especially with the larger of the two pump pliers. However, I would use a vice myself if possible for a neater job.

I was initially unimpressed with these pliers as they weren't as substancial as the ones I was replacing. There seems to be quite a lot of play in the hinge and the ratchet mechanism didn't seem very robust. I have used them on a few jobs now and they're actually pretty good. The fine teeth on the ratchet means you can set them very accurately and they stay locked in place. The jaws are also shaped in a way that lets you get a decent grip. The handles will flex slightly with excessive pressure. Not sure how long they will last, but they appear fine for general use.
