Our stove is coated metal on the outside (with a cast iron hob). Its robust and will tolerate being left out overnight as long as it's dried out afterwards. Long term, we don't advise leaving it out in the elements, since rust 'never sleeps' and will eventually degrade the finishes, and water can saturate the lining. We sell a stovebag which is designed to be highly weather resistant. When not in use we recommend storing it dry, undercover, a shed is fine. I have used it to sit around on my covered decking area burning 1.5 foot hazel sticks. It only provides ample heat in this way if the flames are above the stove. It has been used all summer and there is no sign of degrading ware. Hours at a go no problem. I intend to get another next summer to have two pots on the go. Great piece of camping kit, so pleased I brought this stove it’s a great colour and size and works so well only needing a few twigs and sticks or charcoal also works well.
