Normally when you pull it out, if you have something heavy on it, it will tilt a little bit. But it does not affect the use and it normally can be telescopic. I found that as I had to alter the tray end because it wasn’t long enough for my VL 60 cooler, when I put my straps on the handles to keep my cooler in place it pulled up on the edge of the tray on the back end preventing it from locking and unlocking. The bottom of the tray wasn’t thick enough to keep the bottom in place, it was raising with the straps being tighter on the edges. I loosened my straps and will have to adjust how I open and close the tray to make it work. I wish I would’ve known this in advance.
