Review: Very handy - This product is super handy it's exactly what I needed for my hp 400 g3 basically I didn't have the original power supply for my pc and the original power supplies were too expensive so I bought a different hp power supply without the proprietary connection on it and bought this adapter for it and it works really well it was very hard to find an adapter like this it was so frustrating with the proprietary connection however this product was exactly what I needed and fixed my problem I'd highly recommend this product

A: Laptop HDDs use the same SATA connections as a Desktop HDD.  So no converter cables is needed.  I have two desktop PC's using laptop HDD's in them now and no converter cable is needed.  Same connections on a 2.5" HDD as a 3.5" HDD.

**Q: I have a dell system that has slim sata power cable. however my ssd (samsung 870) does not support slimsata power. can i use this + sata data for ssd?**
A: From your question, you have a slim power connector and a regular data connector. If that's the case, you would need a sata power adapter, something like: B07FK5G2TF. But technically, this one should work.
