Filipino food is one of the least well-known of all Southeast Asian cuisines. Authentic Filipino recipes include: Tasty Pork and Shrimp Spring Rolls Braised Vegetables with Fish Shrimp Rice Noodles Chicken and Pork Adobo Stuffed Beef Roll Iced Fruit Mix (Halo-Halo) And many more… Many of the dishes are personal favorites of the author; all have been kitchen tested and are representative of true Filipino cuisine, in all its diversity, simplicity and complexity. They are a magical discovery of the food of a resilient people who, while adopting foreign influences, have managed to create a cuisine that is truly their own―part Western, part Asian, and uniquely Filipino. Review: Good first Filipino cookbook - This was my first Filipino cookbook which I bought to find everyday type recipes. This book is absolutely perfect for that. The dishes chosen are the best known and really tasty. The recipes are easy to follow and the pictures show how things should look! There is even a very useful section on dips and relishes. The format (wire bound) is ideal as the book stays open athe required page. I would very much recommend it as a first step, especially for those unfamiliar with Filipino cuisine. I was encouraged to buy a second book 'Fine Filipino Food' by Karen Hulene Bartell which is a little more adventurous and wide ranging but lacks pictures of the finished dishes so is good for those more familiar with the food. Review: Highly recommended! - Recipes are easy to follow and the pictures are very enticing. It gives me confidence in cooking. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Best Sellers Rank | 1,949,868 in Books ( See Top 100 in Books ) 1,483 in Food & Drink Encyclopaedias & Dictionaries 1,848 in Other Asian Food & Drink 7,968 in Quick & Easy Meals | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 out of 5 stars 90 Reviews | ## Images ![Filipino Homestyle Dishes: Delicious Meals in Minutes [Filipino Cookbook, Over 60 Recipes] (Learn to Cook Series) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61nwT5HrL2L.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good first Filipino cookbook *by G***E on 26 March 2010* This was my first Filipino cookbook which I bought to find everyday type recipes.
