Review: Awesome trying, well made worth it! - When my husband and I started looking into upgrading our kitchen, after a bit more learning about the induction technology and searching reviews, we found ChangBERT, it seemed like a great deal and a good way to test out the technology, but honestly, it delivers far more than I expected for the price. I love making breakfast with my wide skillet, cooking eggs evenly across the entire surface, the heat reached way past the center, even around the edges, so the coil is definitely not the small kind people worry about, real 8-inch coil as advertised, nice heat distribution. Controlling the temperature accurately, heat stays gentle and steady, perfect for omelets or pancakes. Then when I switch to HEAT mode, it ramps up quickly for boiling or searing. Water for pasta or coffee comes to a full boil in seconds. A few reviews mentioning noise, but after using it myself, just low noise while it runs, sometimes the huming is from the cookware I think. For something at this price, the performance has been amazing. We went in just hoping to “try out” induction, but now we use it more than our gas stove.

**Q: Is this cooktop noisy?**
A: I'm so very pleased with this purchase. Modern looking, fast and extremely quiet. I don't hear any noise coming from the cooker but the bubbling sound coming from boiling soup inside the pot.

A: Please use the magnet in the package to test the bottom of your cookware first. Only cookwares that stick to the magnet are compatible. Also, please make sure you put a cookware on the induction cooktop before you turn it on. When a compatible cookware is not detected, the induction cooktop displays '----' and shuts of automatically a few seconds later.

**Q: I'm really fond of the temperature control feature on the induction cooktop.Has anyone had any experience using this one?**
A: My wife purchased this induction cooker and she likes the temperature control feature.I can tell the temperature is slightly inaccurate in some cases because I'm a control freak and I always use an instant food thermometer when I cook meals. I would say the slight inaccuracy does not stop the food from coming out good but I still prefer to try to make it perfect.I guess this is a common issue of induction cookers.

**Q: Can I use my 10 inch alluminum fry pan on it?**
A: I use a 10 inch alluminum fry pan with an induction compatible bottom and a 12 inch cast iron skillet.Both of them works out fine. But you might need to make sure your cookware is induction compatible. The package includes a magnet for you to test the bottom of your cookware. It works if the magnet sticks to it because the induction cooker generates heat by electromagnetic induction.Some expensive cookwares are made with thick copper or alluminum bottoms. They work well with gas but they won't work well with an induction cooktop.

Works great, very reliable, heats quickly (as you'd expect from 1800W of induction). The surfaces all clean up easily, which is nice as I'm an extremely messy chef. The cable is a convenient length, not too long, not too short. The induction shuts off automatically if you lift the pan with an audible beep. The beep sound on this thing in general is a little piercing and cannot be adjusted, but it's not annoying enough to me to dock a star for that. The size works very well for our kitchen, and it stows away easily in a cabinet when not in use. No major complaints from me.
