It is an effective medication that helps to relieve:- Congestion and irritation, - Mild expectorant to help remove phlegm and a demulcent. Liquorice and Squill belong to a group of medicines known as expectorants. They help loosen phlegm in people with chesty coughs by coughing it up. Liquorice is also a demulcent, which means that it soothes the throat. The other active ingredient is menthol, which helps to relieve congestion and gives a lovely fresh sensation. It also acts to relieve congestion associated with chesty coughs and bronchitis. Covonia mentholated cough mixture works without causing drowsiness and is suitable for adults, elderly and children age 5 years and over. *Chesty Cough Mixture Mentholated. Always read the label. Ingredients Active ingredients per 5ml: levomenthol 4mg, squill tincture 0.6ml, liquorice liquid extract 0.125ml. Also contains: ethanol, sucrose, glucose, sodium parahydroxybenzoates (E215, E219). Alcohol 7vol%. Sucrose 1.3g per 5ml. Directions SHAKE THE BOTTLE. Dose: For Oral Use: Adults, the elderly and children over 12 years: Take 1 or 2 x 5ml spoonfuls.
