The main ingredients in the recipe are Salmon, Sweet Potato, Peas, Potato and herbs. Hope that helps. **Q: Is this authentic Barking Heads dog food? It’s totally different in size, shape & colour from a batch previously bought from a well known supermarket!** A: Yes this is genuine. We deal direct with the manufacturer and would be unable to sell non-authentic items as a registered trader. **Q: When do you change from puppy food to adult** A: Depends on the breed of dog, size etc. Our Cockerpoo went onto adult food at about 12 months, but he could have gone on a few months earlier. If in doubt contact Barking Heads, they are very helpful. **Q: What age should we move from puppy to adult? Thanks** A: Normally, it depends on the breed/size. I have mini dachshund, so he went 'big food' well after 1 year (not younger) and it's not a problem if you continue feeding puppy food later than this - he's been in perfect health for 6 years now so touch wood... Large breeds need extra time to mature fully (anywhere from 18 months to 2 years for the biggest). If you're concerned, ask your vet. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I’ve noticed big changes in 3 weeks *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 2 December 2022* Although I have not noticed weight loss,in the 3 weeks I have been using it, my dogs seem more alert and their demeanour has changed for the better, they seem happier and my older dog (14) who has bad arthritis this seems to be helping him, coats are shining, ive not been using it long enough to see weight loss but hopefully next month, I have ordered another 12 kg bag, it is very expensive that’s the only down side.but there’s no rubbish or fillers in it and they love it. I will update this next month hopefully with some weight loss. My Labrador is 44kg and 10 years old so there’s work ahead but I’m hopeful with fat dog slim. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dry slim dog food barking heads *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 12 March 2026* Great for dogs that love dried food and you want to control weight.
