I use watercolour pencils and it's important to control the amount of water. Far too much is initially released from these 'brushes' so a quick wipe or a dab on a kitchen towel or cloth is all that's needed before applying the brush to the paper. It's about the same length as an unsharpened pencil so it fits in my handy rollup 'pouch' as well. I'm delighted with the thing.
