The cards aren't of good playing card quality, but I don't think that's ever claimed. If you do want to shuffle/manipulate them as cards, my advice is to take small batches and mix them up. It does take a while, but I've managed to convert most of them into easy-to-shuffle cards simply by taking the time to shuffle/mix and/or rub them against each other again and again. It removes the coating that prevents shuffling. It does take time, but it's worth it. I bought them along with a pack of Sharpies in a variety of colours so that I could make a word game for my pupils. The pens write on the cards perfectly despite other reviewers saying they were too shiny. I found them very useful and have lots to spare in case I need to make a similar game in the future. I have tried different markers on these and find that it is hard to remove an image (even with acetone) but since they are inexpensive it would be worth considering plenty if you want them for a number of different games.
