I have no idea what it was but I could not get it to budge by using glass cleaner or alcohol spirit cleaner. I used this Auto Glym glass polish and the haze / mist lifted away and vanished. It took me no more than 10 minutes. You want to clean the windows first before using this polish. I used a foam applicator with a pea size amount of this product and applied in a swirl motion. I then let the polish sit on the glass for one minute and then used a clean microfiber cloth and wiped back and forth in a straight line to buff away the polish. Job done! I’m glad this worked as I was tempted to get a new windscreen for my car. But this has saved me a small fortune!

A: Yes this is great to use on the inside and outside of all glass and perspex windows. It's also fantastic at breaking down bird muck without damaging your paint work

A: Hi Paul, Sorry no it will not touch scratches in glass, glass is very very hard and you need a cerium oxide kit such as this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Windscreen-Windshield-Scratch-Repair-Scratches/dp/B001RAQGXC/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1399375270&sr=8-7&keywords=cerium+oxideTo remove scratches from glass, this will get rid of dirt, smears, traffic film etc and leave them shiny but you need to step up to machine polishing and cerium oxide to help that
