The end with the male threads will thread onto the Sawyer Mini. I guess I don't fully understand how you are trying to attach these items. Here is another possibility, and this is what I do. I want to have the ability to carry 3 liters of water in my 72 hour kit. Part of how I carry water is inside of two 16 ounce soda bottles. I use a Mountain Dew bottle for collecting dirty water. I attach my Sawyer Mini right to that for filtering as a squeez bottle which works much better than the pouch that comes with the Sawyer Mini. I squeezed the nipple and melted it shut on the adapter with male threads. I use that as a cap of my Sawyer Mini so that I do not cross contaminate my drinking system. The second soda bottle is a clear one that I thread the blue fitting onto so that I can back flush my Sawyer Mini through the straw. **Q: Does this sp110 inline hydration pack adapter for screw-on filters fit the sawyer micro filter?** A: Yes but the barbs do not fit standard bladder tubing.
