Review: Bangin. - Used it for the first time today, what a vibe. Anyone on here saying they’re having trouble aren’t cleaning it right. No soap, just make sure you wipe off any food and keep it oiled and you’re good. If you do burn stuff onto it and need to soap, keep it gentle and properly season it afterward, even twice is good. You gotta know how to use this thing, if you mess it up on round one you’ll have a messed up pan, dude. You gotta prep it right. Watch some videos online of how people manage this, it’s a great pan. First go and my eggs are SO good. Nothing stuck, I flipped them well, we are all good. How to season? First wash, soap and water, and dry. You’ll be soap and watering it like once a month maybe, give or take. Do not let this sit in water EVER. Dry it immediately, be sure to really get any soap off of it. Get some oil on there, slowly warm up the pan, and let it do its thing. Once the oil is warm, fully brush the oil all over the cook side of the pan, on all the edges and all. Let the pan keep heating, you want the covered bits to get to a smoke point, then you can let it cool. I let it cool here, wiped it down with a paper towel, and heated it up again, letting it be warm with the fully covered oil side really getting its oil set into it. I then blasted with heat, letting it really get to smoke, and did a quick run under some very hot water, essentially setting the oil in place as a base layer. Wipe down gently with cloth, and you’re ready to cook. For sure add butter or oil when you cook, let the pan heat, then add your butter/oil/fat, let that heat fully, THEN add your items. Once done cooking, let it cool to warm and give it a gentle wipe down and let it be. No water no nothing, it’s done. Great pan, great value, easy to use, easy to season, maintains its film well, and looks great on the stove top with its cool heat resistant wooden handle. Get this pan, use it right, and you will be so stoked to cook every time
Review: Excellent multi-use skillet - TL;DR - with proper use and care, this is a worthy investment for the kitchen. At the time of purchase, there were literally no reviews on this product, so I thought for $30, I'd gamble with some new cookware and provide some feedback for potential buyers. As I write this, I have been using this 7.9" fry pan practically non-stop for two days. This is my first ever experience using carbon steel cookware. On arrival it was sealed in a plastic bag and coated with a very light layer of protective oil to keep it from rusting in transit. Washing this off was quick and simple. I gave it one round of seasoning with canola oil as per the instructions which were included, then fried an egg in butter as the first test. The egg stuck at first but as it cooked it loosened right up and slid across the pan like a leather sole shoe on black ice. Cleanup was simply wiping it down with a paper towel, nothing was stuck or burnt. Pan fried potatoes have also been an excellent success with a little clarified butter, but this is where I had some trouble on day one. Turns out the blend of spices I normally cook with strips the seasoning right off the pan, causing bits of potato and spices to burn and stick. I suspect it's the lemon pepper, and it took almost five pounds of potatoes before I tried omitting the spices with excellent results. I found that they retain more flavor when added once the food is cooked and dumped on a plate. I'm not much of a cook though, so I wouldn't know if it was bad to cook the spices or not anyway. After a three round seasoning session I was able to fry three eggs and four rounds of potatoes (sans spices) with absolutely nothing sticking when using clarified butter for cooking, making sure to preheat the pan before adding the food. Between uses I allowed the pan to cool to where it was just warm to the touch and wiped it clean with a paper towel which leaves a layer of oil behind for protection, no need to wash or scrub. I specifically chose this make and model for the size, weight and the removable wooden handle, making it an ideal addition to the haversack for camping. I will update this review once I have more experience, especially after testing over a campfire, but I am really liking it so far.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is it suitable for high-heat cooking and compatible with all heat sources?**
A: Absolutely. Made from carbon steel, this pan is perfect for high-heat cooking like stir-frying, searing, and deep frying. Flat bottom fits all heat sources—gas, electric, induction, grills, and campfires. Avoid direct flame on the wooden handle

**Q: Is the pan non-stick and does it require seasoning?**
A: It’s not Teflon-coated, but it is pre-seasoned. To enhance performance, season it with oil before first use. Over time, it builds a natural non-stick surface made from polymerized oil, which improves with every use.

**Q: How should I clean the pan? Can I use a dishwasher?**
A: Hand wash only — no soap or dishwasher. Clean with hot water and a soft brush, dry completely, and apply a light coat of oil to prevent rust.

**Q: Can it be used in the oven, and is the handle removable?**
A: Yes, the handle is removable, which makes the pan safe for oven use and easier to store. Once the handle is removed, the pan can withstand high heat and is suitable for cooking in the oven.

**Q: What makes this pan better than non-stick cookware?**
A: It’s PTFE/PFOA-free, safe at high temperatures, and much more durable. It builds its own non-stick layer naturally and delivers authentic, restaurant-quality stir fry at home.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great to switch from Teflon!
*by T***E on May 15, 2023*

We are tossing out all of our Teflon pans and finding good nonstick replacements, and this pan type is great. It does discolor and we thought it had a coating but apparently that is natural. We ordered in two sizes and we use them a lot.
