I have some that are gel and they flattened out after about a year.** A: Mine are finally breaking down after 22yrs, yes years, of 12 hr shifts sometimes 7 days a week. The 'high volume' description made me worry about how well these would fit into my shoes but so far, so good. If you take out the flimsy existing insoles, they fit perfectly into Dr Martens boots, leather Chelsea boots, trail running shoes, trainers, walking boots, wellies etc. The only shoes they don't seem to fit into are Converse high tops.
