Great idea! - I have a dishwasher that has leaked. The hose that leaks is no longer manufactured, and is not available anywhere. I fashioned a replacement out of different material that I hope works. But I also put a drain beneath the dishwasher so if it (or a replacement) ever leaks, the water will have a safe place to escape. I used this material around the perimeter of the dishwasher enclosure so water could not seep into the wall, or under the cabinets or flooring (which would cause immense damage). I was able to easily measure and precisely cut & trim this material with a sharp box cutter type knife. It was flexible enough to bend where one of the sides had an angle to it. It stuck to water-proofed hardwood floor nicely. All in all, I was impressed with the material and it was perfect for the job I needed. I can't speak to how well it will prevent water flow, but I see no reason it would not. It worked on small scale tests.
