IF (and that's a big if)' it does fall short in terms of performance figures, it certainly isn't noticeable to the human ear. Mass loading is not an exacting science, it is purely adding mass to an object to reduce unwanted vibration, the trick is to do this whilst keeping the weight to minimum. I have deduced that there is very little speaker performance to be gained by covering more than 60-65% of the surface area of a panel with Silent Coat so the 0-60mph figures aren't impacted noticeably. I've fitted it a particular cars doors, roof and floor and found it very easy to work with. The product is easy to cut with a pair of kitchen scissors and adheres very well to a clean surface. The backing peels off nicely and there is no discernible smell. So, as hard as it is to admit, I've probably been wasting money on the more expensive products.
