The functioning of punch pliers is the same as that of other pliers. Using two levers/handles, two mating surfaces are pressed against each other with a rotating punch in-between. In other words, the rotating punch pliers have a small, round wheel on the upper surface on which six hole punches are installed. The lower surface carries a thick and circular pressure plate. In order to make a hole, the material is placed between the hole punch and the pressure plate and the pliers are squeezed together.
