I wouldn't risk putting "true" liquids in them (they say not to on the packaging), but they seem to handle creamier substances just fine. They look cute, particularly with their bright lids, and are very little; I thought at first that they would almost be too small for my purposes and so bought the medium ones as well (it's a pity the medium ones aren't called "large" and that a more in-the-middle size isn't available, because the size difference between the small and the medium is considerable), but the little ones held more than I thought they would and were still useful on a trip that lasted over a week. They're nice and easy to open and close, since the lid pops off and snaps back on without any twisting, and they stayed securely shut while I was in transit.
