I also just took this car seat for a flight. It does indeed fit in an aircraft seat rear facing or front facing. If it’s front facing, your kid can kick the seat in front of them. If it’s rear facing, the back of the car seat touches the seat in front. So the passenger in front of the car seat will feel some movement, but thats better than kicking. To fasten the car seat into the airplane seat (rear facing), I tried the lap belt through the base where the anchor straps normally go, but almost got the seat stuck because I tightened the plane seat belt, but there’s no room to unlatch the plane seat belt. I barely got it out. I found the best way is to loop the plane belt around the base as pictured. The car seat is quite heavy, and you definitely need a “car seat hand truck” for the airport which can be bought on desertcart for around $40, and folds to fit in the overhead. When the car seat is on the hand truck, it won’t fit down the isle. You have to remove the car seat and carry it down the isle.
