The simplicity and form of Mary holding Jesus, Joseph, and the Shepherd and Sheep who stand watch are the foundation of this timeless holiday tradition. Build a Welcoming Surround The Crèche is designed to intimately shelter the Holy Family, while providing a wide welcoming base for additional figures. Cypress Trees, Metal Stars, and /or Tree Silhouettes enhance the scene. Tell the Rest of the Story The Three Wisemen, Shepherd and Stable Animals, and tall nativity angels (Song of Joy & Dance of Life) are all part of traditional Nativity storytelling. Beautifully rendered by Susan Lordi. **Q: are they carved from wood**
A: I found this on the Willow Tree website:A: The original of each Willow Tree® figure is sculpted and carved by Susan Lordi using a special sculpting clay. Susan's originals are then sent to a factory in China to be cast in resin that exactly captures each of her knife marks. The resin is cured, and each piece is individually hand-painted (and the paint is lead-free).I LOVE mine and have bought several for gifts.

**Q: How does the shelter stand up?  Is it curved or does it have a support piece?**
A: It is curved and stands on it's own. It is all one piece of pressed metal.

These figures are not glued together. They are separate figures that are sold together,

I love willow tree: these figurines are minimals yet with a lot expressivity. I do suggest this item for an original present or to have a non-conventional Nativity your next Christmas. 5 stars to the seller too: I bought to sets of this product and both came wrapped carefully and in perfect shape
