Review: Great Rice Alternative - I discovered this product some time ago and it is my go to as a substitute to traditional rice. It is so easy to prepare, just empty the rice into a colander, rinse, put into a bowl and heat in the microwave for 2 minutes. The plus side is that this product good value for money and low in calories. The texture is totally different from rice as it is wetter and it does not stick together, so is perfect every time. I should mention that upon opening there is sometimes a slight smell but once the product has been rinsed this disappears. I would recommend this product. Just give it a try.

**Q: Is the weight of each pack 200g as listed or 270g as shown?**
A: the item comes pre-soaked so 70g of water is present which you need to drain, 200g is the weight of the remaining rice.

**Q: Is the item sent as shown or the newer white & purple packet which has 16gms of carbs per packet due to new ingredients added?**
A: Hi, the batch I ordered in January was the new type - tastes fine but I use it for dieting and was disappointed with the increase in cals & carbs - they should have left it alone. I am now using a product called Barenaked which is great - some supermarkets sell it, look around for a good deal.

**Q: What is the best before date?**
A: It tells you on the packet. But I have eaten it 3 months past sell by date with no ill effects.

**Q: Whats the texture like? I’ve tried different ones and they have a rubber-like consistency**
A: Yrs it is a bit rubbery but I use rice pasta and noodles and save a lot of calories and with sauce like curry or stir fry you sort of get used to it

I love this rice I’ve ordered it in packs of 5 multiple times before. So naturally I ordered 20 for the better value. I was expecting 4 boxes of 5 but no I got 20 INDIVIDUALLY PACKAGED portions of rice. So that was a bit annoying to deal with. Overall I 100% recommended this great tasting rice. But do not recommend you buy 20 at once.
