This marble polish comes in a strange liquid consistency. Rather than a wax type product, this polisher looks like milk and pours very runny. I used a microbre cloth to get a dose and went to work on my table. As you rub, the liquid dries, builds friction and forms a layer like as promised. The instructions emphasise to continue rubbing until all smear marks are gone within 20 minutes. As I found, the liquid once dry bonds with the surfaces and becomes difficult to rub any further. Long story short, this polisher sure brought out a whiter pristine colour but didn't manage to repair the many micro scratches on the my marble table. Please dont use any soap or cleaning fluid because they can have a bleaching effect. If you want to put a shine on it why not try a wipe over with a light application of either baby oil or pure olive oil. You can buy specialised marble oil but its expensive and either of these two work quite well in my experience. There are some good YouTube episodes on marble care if you want to try more. Would this product help restore the colour?** A: You don't say what type of stone it is or what cleaner damaged it but I would think you have actually gone through the varnish & then the stone. Yes this would help but only after you applied a 'Colour Intensifier's for Natural Stone' ( Google it first because there different ones for different types of stones) which hopefully will restore the colour. I would still then use this to protect the work top. There are some informative videos on YouTube that may help. I would also try ringing local stone masons for advice. If this is an area next to a counter hob I would consider investing in some clear glass trays that way you can still enjoy your worktops with the additional protection as its always going to be a case of checking cleaning products. I was looking up something that would specifically polish the surface to physically remove the marks to start again which this advertised it did. It seems like a good cleaner for marble surfaces and a very gentle polish to renew gloss, but did nothing for the stains whatsoever.
