The nice bit about all plastic is I dont worry when it get thrown into the bath at bathtime and then a little later it is being pushed along the carpet without a fuss. It is not a rock solid toy, its a medium sized plastic toy ... so it will handle being dropped and thrown, but standing on it will probably be its last load carried. My only grumble is the digger mechanism is a little fiddly and does not stay up unless you hold it up ... not a deal breaker for me, but worth a mention. We have building works going on and my 1.5 year old son is obsessed with diggers! He loves this. It's just the right size (not too big and not too small either). I have deducted one star because the tipper part is quite "loose" - you cannot drive around with the tipper bucket up and it stops you pushing it smoothly on a carpet.
