I don't recommend buying the Silver Spring lift. It malfunctioned in several area within the first few weeks **Q: Will this unit work with a swing away mount?** A: Call Harmar and ask them. They were very helpful. I wouldn't recommend a Silver Spring lift at all **Q: Which swing away adapter works with this carrier?** A: I returned it. Several things broke witin a couple of weeks. I spent more and got s quality dwing away lift...Harmar. if you stand on the driver's side of the car, it swings toward the passenger side. I hope this w helps! **Q: What kind of wiring does it have?** A: It just has two wires that go directly to the vehicle battery. A positive and negative that's it. Deep thanks to all who made this possible for you and me! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Moves a Lot After Grease Comes Out and Switch Not Waterproof *by J***E on October 18, 2025* This has allowed me to be more active. However, at first everything was nice and tight and nothing moved when I was driving. Because they used grease, without using grease seals, all of the grease has been pushed out of the bottom of the outside tube and the platform is free to move quite a lot. Either use seals to keep the grease in place or tighten the tolerances and use oil. Also, the switch does not appear to actually be waterproof as when I turn it on when it is raining, it tries to move up. I have to turn the key off before releasing the down switch to prevent it from going up again.
