Herb - Catmint - Nepeta cataria Approx 1500 Seeds Nepeta cataria. Catmint, also known as catnep, or dog mint is a hardy bushy plant which has grey-green aromatic leaves, with pink flowers growing to 80 cm. Cats adore the scent and may attract them away from other parts of your garden. It can be used in herbal tea and other dishes. Outdoors; in drills, in May, thin to 30 cm spacing. Catmint requires little care and is almost pest and disease free. Popular as it flowers for a long time, it makes a good edging plant, though adored by cats.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: have your seeds grown yet, if so have cats shown any interest towards it**
A: Yes, they germinated quickly but the plants are still too small to let the cats eat them. However one of my cats has never shown Ny interest in cat mint but the other two love it. I tend to grow it in pots indoors.

**Q: Can you grow them indoors?**
A: Yes. We grow it in a 9 inch diameter pot on the window sill so the cats can have it year-round.  You'll want to put fresh soil every year as the nutrients in the soil deplete, especially when/if it gets big.

**Q: What is the best potting soil to grow the catnip in indoors   i grew some many years ago and all the cats were ill which i put down to the incorrect s**
A: Just buy potting soil in a bag- Amazon or garden centre. My cats have never been ill on catnip and the soil would not make them sick

**Q: What time of year is best to sow them and can you just sprinkle them in beds instead of actually planting?**
A: I just sprinkled some on a large pot in the garden and they grew very well, but slugs liked them also if on the ground our cat would have eaten them 😊 not sure about time of year I put mine I early summer
