Growing Red Reishi mushrooms on logs and stumps is the perfect way to enjoy fresh mushrooms at home. It is a fun project to engage in and is low maintenance. Even if you do not have a large backyard, log and stump mushroom growing can be a great addition to your urban garden . Any hardwood loving mushrooms can be grown on logs. That includes Shiitake, Oysters, Reishi, and Lion’s Mane. Mushroom cultivation on logs requires access to hardwood logs and/or stumps. It involves first "inoculating" hardwood logs with mushroom mycelium, and then allowing the log to naturally colonize over a period of 6-9 months. When the logs are fully colonized- and the season is right- the mushrooms will emerge from the log and can be harvested and enjoyed.

I purchased a few different mushroom spawn plugs received a few still waiting for a few. As of now this brand is by far the best one yet. I'm still waiting for a few others to come in but out of the ones I did receive, this is the only one that actually came with any type of mycelium inoculations. The others just came with plain wooden dowels. I highly recommend this company for any of your mushroom needs don't play Russian roulette with all these other bogus companies.
