I wanted to find a sponge that didn't absorb the product too much, like most sponges do. I have been using a brush to put on foundation, like many pros do, but it leaves streaks. When I got the sponge, I misunderstood the directions and was disappointed because it did absorb into the sponge quite a bit and that defeated my purpose for buying the product. Irritated, I contacted the seller, to give them a chance to handle this problem before I returned it. They were SUPER responsive and got back with me very fast. Turns out that you need to put on the product (I use my finger, but you can use the silicone side) and then spread it over your face, using the silicone side first. Surprisingly, it spreads well that way. THEN flip it over and use the sponge side to smooth it out. It works beautifully! Hardly any product on the sponge and it looks silky smooth on my face. I didn't try to spread the product with the silicone at first because it didn't seem like that would work, but it does! I have to say that the seller was really terrific. In fact, they told me that they are redoing the instructions to more accurately describe how to use the product. They are really working to give you something you will love and use. Kudos to them because not all sellers are so good, although many are here on Amazon.I highly recommend this product! I used maybe a third of the amount of foundation I normally have to use with my regular makeup sponges, and the blending side is very convenient.
