## Overview

Renovo RUP5001117 International Ultra Proofer is a 500 ml eco-friendly, water-based liquid designed to restore and protect convertible soft tops. It creates a durable, water-repellent barrier that resists mould, mildew, and UV damage, extending the life and look of your vehicle’s fabric roof. Easy to apply with a brush, it dries quickly and maintains weatherproof protection for up to six months.

## Description

From the manufacturer Instructions Please note: It is advisable to test on an inconspicuous area of your convertible top prior to use, as some colours may appear lighter or darker after application. Do not apply in direct sunlight, as this will cause the Ultra Proofer to dry out too quickly and produce an uneven result. 1. Dry brush the soft top to remove any loose dust/dirt. 2. Pour Ultra Proofer into a suitable container/bowl. 3. Stir well before application. 4. Apply Ultra Proofer with a new 5cm/2inch paintbrush ensuring that the fabric is completed wetted out. It is best to commence application in the centre of the soft top and as quickly as possible progress towards each side, the front and the back of the soft top. Wipe excess drips from paintwork, trims and glass with a damp cloth. 5. Depending on the condition of the top a litre of Ultra Proofer is usually sufficient for two coats on an average-size soft top. It is important to allow Ultra Proofer to dry between coats. 6. 6. Always ensure that you have enough Ultra Proofer to coat the soft top completely and that you will not run out halfway through application! 6. Allow the top to dry for approximately three hours, this will depend on the drying conditions. The Ultra Proofer may dry out more quickly if it is a warm day and may take longer to dry if it is a damp day. 7. Wash out brush in warm, soapy water. Do not take the car out in rain/wet weather until the Ultra Proofer has completely dried. The soft top is now water and stain repellent will resist the growth of mould/mildew and is protected from harmful Ultra Violet rays. To ensure the best possible weatherproof protection we advise that Ultra Proofer is applied every six months.

Review: Great stuff - Excellent stuff used it on my old landy soft top which hadnt been treated for years . It totally transformed it , i put two coats on and when it rains now the water just beads up and runs off instead of soaking into the fabric and making it damp inside, the fabric feels more pliable now so ill be buying more and treat the top once a year there was more then enough to do two coats ,i would recommend to have a wet cloth to wipe of any drips from the paint work when applying product .

I just assumed the soft top on my convertible was meant to go damp and dry out as the sun hit it. Hey, I never got wet inside so why would I worry? But this stuff is amazing, it's like putting a plastic shell over your roof which has been polished. I painted my convertible top in about 40 minutes, out of direct sunlight. When it dried I threw a glass of water over it and was amazed - the water literally raced off the top of it! I will try and post a video as I was amazed, this stuff is so simple to paint on (use a normal 2 inch paint brush, or smaller or larger - size really doesn't matter) and let it dry. I have uploaded a couple of pics showing how I applied it, wrapping a dust sheet around the car, with a before pic showing how soaked the roof was normally and an after pic, plus a quick video of just how good this stuff is. It also helped to have the roof raised slightly off of the A pillar so the proofer didn't drip onto the windscreen and caught on a sheet on the inside instead.

**Q: How long does the 'as new' waterproof last?**
A: On the bottle there is reference to the product being used every 6 months for the ultimate proofing

**Q: I have an Audi A3 soft top, the roof looks very clean(no green mould or marks) do I need to use the roof cleaner before reproofing it?  also will one bottle of Ultra proofer be enough or should i need two**
A: As you apply the proofed you might find there's more dirt than you think! But if you're sure it's clean, proofed alone is fine. I only ever used the cleaner once, first time I proffed the top. I use a 3 inch absolutely clean paintbrush and work the proofed well in when there's no rain about. Fantastic afterwards to see how the rain beads on the surface and runs off. A small bottle goes a long way.

**Q: Should the renovo ultra proofer smell like rotten eggs ?**
A: Mine didn’t doesn’t sound right to smell of rotten eggs (hydrogen sulphide) I wouldn’t go sniffing it any more. Out of interest how old is the product you have and was it stored at an adverse temperature ?

A: Hi Warren,i found this product very easy to use. If you get a good quality 2" brush and follow the instructionsyou'll have no trouble. The product is almost water like but a thicker consistency and i applied it like i was painting, up and down ,side to side and then up and down again. My car being garaged, i was able to leave it to dry for a fewdays and then gave it a second coat. This stuff made the top like new again as i only realised this when i went to fold it down.The material was thicker than before i started so i had to help the folds as it folded down into the boot.My car is a 1997 saab 900s Since i used all three products in succession i covered the car completely in plastic drop sheets.Raise the roof up first,cover your car totally with the sheets then close the roof again, savesa lot of cleaning later.Hope this helps, Kenny

Excellent stuff used it on my old landy soft top which hadnt been treated for years . It totally transformed it , i put two coats on and when it rains now the water just beads up and runs off instead of soaking into the fabric and making it damp inside, the fabric feels more pliable now so ill be buying more and treat the top once a year there was more then enough to do two coats ,i would recommend to have a wet cloth to wipe of any drips from the paint work when applying product .

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good, not a miracle worker

I have a 14 year old BMW E46 convertible. I never did anything special to the roof before and it started to look a bit tired and grey. So July 2014 I bought 500ml each of the Cleaner, the black Reviver and this Ultra Proofer. The cleaner certainly took off more dirt than normal cleaning, although having paid a lot for the stuff I was probably trying harder too. The dye made it look very nice and black while the proofer made the canvas repel water like it were metal. The one thing it will not do is completely even out the crease marks and shiny bits where the roof rubs when folded. I am guessing nothing will do that. All in all a good buy. I will probably do it once a year from now on.
