Very capable mag mount & great price too !
As I mentioned before, this little twig is very good ! Its very well tuned as picks up signals across a wide range. I'm amazed at its capability !!! Don't be fooled by how small it is !!! You don't need a thumping big antenna to achieve clear transitions. It's about having a well tuned antenna & of course, height. Being mag mounted is an absolute bonus !!! I've received some unbelievable transmissions with this antenna & its quite literally attached to the top of my curtain rail. If I could get it up on the roof I would, but I love the fact that in less than 10 seconds I can dismount it & have it in my car for air shows & the like. You really will not be disappointed with its performance. I read the same from a few others, and they were absolutely correct !!! Enjoy !!!

Good! But cable not long enough!
Very good, but wire is not long enough to rig around car. I have a small car and it will only reach the steering wheel when put on the roof at the back of the car - I also rigged it around the car to hide wires. The actual product is very good though, picks up a lot of signals and was much smaller than I expected. I am going to try and get an extension to allow me to put my scanner in my centred cup holder

Excellent antenna
About 18" in height, small plastic covefred magnet in the base, the magnet itself is fully enclosed, so no scratching metal work. But I still use a small handkerchief or one of those lens cleaner cloths. The cable is very long, just over 17 foot of it (roughly).I use it maily - almost exclusively - for picking up aircraft transmissions either at home or at airfields. The range is excellent, although like all antenna work on a line of sight principle, so the higher and less obstructed the better. For instance, from Denham airfiled I can pick up transmissions from aircraft at Blackbushe, but not Blackbushe ground. Although, having said that, sometimes I can.Attach to a large metal object (car roof), even a metal bracket in a wall and this will enhance the reception. The whole thing is very light.Nice bit of kit and glad I bought it to go with my Uniden UBC 125XLT scanner.

Centre Loaded Mag Mount Scanner Antenna
This is a brilliant antenna which has a BNC connector and gives my GRECOM PSR-282 scanner exceptional performance. There is no problem clearly hearing the pilots in aircraft 30 miles away, plus clearly hearing the instructions given to them by the Air Traffic controllers. The magnetic base is small but very powerful. The connecting cable is much longer than the 2 metres that I expected, which makes it much easier to locate in a high position indoors on a wall unit, while I am sitting with my scanner a good 10 feet away. It was delivered in a bubble postal envelope by our normal postman the day after ordering, so it was easy for him to put through my letter box without having to knock on my door.

A useful upgrade
This antenna certainly does make a difference when it comes to bringing in weak signals over a simple telescopic aerial. I use it for the Marine Band, and can receive ships out to at least 30 miles. (the big ones anyway!) The base is a strong magnet with a rubber covering. It is simple enough to stick it on the car roof when required, and take it in again afterwards. I clearly was not intended to a permanent fixture. When used indoors I've noticed there is a significant increase in clarity when attached to a radiator. The antenna is 14" high, as it says in the description, and of course is the correct size for the frequencies it is designed to operate with. It works well with all VHF and UHF frequencies, but below about 50Mhz a receiver would be better off with a long wire or rod.

mag mount is tiny
the mag mount is the size of a 2 pence piece so it feels a bit unsafe, and the centre coil acts like a spring and the thing bounces around like Zebedee on amphetamine - that said it hasn't fallen off yet. It provides a clean signal across all bands, but it is a bit flimsy.if you are intending on giving it a rough ride I would suggest considering something a little more robust.

Very happy
I bought this antenna to replace to standard rubber duck which came with my Uniden Bearcat BC92XLT, and the instant improvement was very noticeable. I currently have it mounted in my loft stuck to a fan being stored in there with the magnet (basic I know, but it works!).With the standard rubber duck I could pick up some aircraft above but not very many (I use it mostly for air band), but since attaching this new antenna, I can pick up all aircraft in the area and even Bristol tower too even though I live around 10 miles away on the complete opposite side of the city, so I was very surprised (and happy too) when I found I could pick up the transmissions coming from the tower and ground traffic. I've only recently started getting into scanning so didn't want to spend too much straight away so this was perfect for me. The value is great for the range it provides. The wire which is attached is very long too so you could mount it on your car roof and have lots of wire to around the car to the place where your scanner would be placed. My wire goes from my loft to my bedroom at the moment so that just shows how long the wire really is!So in summary, good value, great range and perfect for anyone just starting out (or more frequent users of course). I highly recommend it to anyone.

OK, but a little disapointing.
Decent enough I guess but to be honest I am a little disappointed. The connector, ( sorry I do not know the proper name, ) fits a lot looser than the one that came with my scanner, ( Grecom, PSR-295, ) this seems to affect the signal. When it is working well, it improves the clarity and the range, however when it is not working well, I only seem to be getting half the conversations sometimes, just the pilots, or just the controller. Other than the loose fitting, I can see no other reason for this, especially considering I have got both parts, ( though with less clarity, ) with the antenna that came with the scanner. The magnet is very good and the wire is around five metres in length, which is good at least.
