Review: Good crayons for little hands - My 18 month old has been able to hold these to draw with pretty easily, and they seem durable so far. The green isn’t quite as vibrant as the rest of the colors, but overall they seem like some good, solid crayons. My dog is VERY interested in how they smell, though, so I might be careful of that if you have a dog prone to eating things they find.

I was honestly quite nervous about giving her anything like this, as she still puts everything in her mouth, so I spent quite a bit of time researching before choosing these. One of the main reasons I went for these crayons is that they’re made purely from beeswax and food-grade colouring, which gave me a lot of reassurance. The packaging does clearly say they’re not meant to be eaten (of course), but I knew realistically that some mouthing would happen—and it has. Even so, they’ve felt completely safe. They smell faintly like honey, and you can really tell they’re made from natural ingredients. They just feel harmless, which made a huge difference to my confidence as a parent. I chose the jumbo size, which I’m really glad I did. They’re chunky enough to reduce any choking concerns and are perfect for little hands just learning how to grip and scribble. My daughter can hold them easily and is starting to understand how to use them, which has been lovely to watch. Overall, I’m very, very pleased with these crayons. If you’re in a similar position—wanting to introduce creative play but feeling a bit anxious about safety—I would absolutely recommend these. I am adding a video of the removal of a smudge of the blue crayon on my 100% acrylic carpet, using only a microfiber cloth and cold water, which is the least effective way to remove wax-based products (you’d want to at least use warm water to losen the wax up a bit), yet it did the job.

**Q: Would these be ok for a 1 year old ?**
A: They're very thick, so great for small, undeveloped hands.  If the 1 year old is like my 2 year olds, the only issue is that the crayons will go in the mouth; I like that these are non-toxic for that reason!

**Q: Do these break easily?**
A: No they are quite thick, you have to put serious effort to break them.

**Q: What are the dates made out of? Dyed with red 40 or other artificial dyes?**
A: Under the “Details” section, it says they don’t use petro-chemicals to make nor dye the crayons. Therefore, red dye 40 is excluded since it’s petroleum based.

**Q: can they be melted and reshaped?**
A: Yes.
