The lack of sun is due to our climate. **Q: How long has it remainder in place?** A: I only put it up about a week and a half ago. So far so good. Just use plenty of soapy water and ensure that the surface you are applying it to is cleaned thoroughly beforehand. I put a drop of washing up liquid in a spray jar with water, gave it a shake, and ensured the entire surface was well covered. I used the d-c-fix application to smooth out the bubbles. The film slips around quite freely, but once dried out it works really well. NOTE: On my first attempt, I didn't use enough water and the glass wasn't as clean as it should have been, as a result the film began to drop after an hour or so. When the sun shines through the film there will be a rainbow effect, in now normal lighting it just appear as regular semi transparent colour. I was really sceptical at first and honestly didn’t expect this film to make much of a difference, but I have to admit I was completely wrong. During the recent UK heatwave, it has reduced the temperature in my house significantly. The film was surprisingly easy to install, and while the silver version does make the rooms a little darker, it’s a small trade-off for the benefits you get. The reduction in heat has been incredible. My bedroom is on the third floor and usually becomes unbearably hot in warm weather. Before installing this, I often struggled to sleep because of how warm the room got. Since putting the film up, the bedroom has been noticeably cooler and far more comfortable, even on the hottest days. It’s made a huge difference to my sleep and overall comfort. I’ve been so impressed with the results that I’ve already ordered more to cover additional windows throughout the house. As you can see from the picture the top windows were done and the bottom ones were pending the light difference isn’t that big, but the temp difference is huge! I first bought it some years ago to use on a rented house for privacy. I'm now renting a flat and decided to buy it again. I am not the most patient person in the world and perhaps I lack the skills but I find it a bit challenging to attach it on my own, I feel like 2 hands are not enough. It's doable but ended up with tiny bubbles which could perhaps be prevented but I ran out of patience. When I have another set of hands for help, there are no bubbles left, but it still takes effort to make sure it's straight. The corners are a pain in the rear as they don't seem to stick on the glass properly but it's hardly noticeable. I love the end result anyway and I absolutely love the thickness and texture of it. It gives great privacy without losing brightness. I bought it before, bought it again and will definitely continue buying it in the future. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great product and easy to install! *by B***Y on 31 May 2026* I got the frosty glass film and it’s amazing. I spent a lot of time measuring and cutting mine to fit to the balcony glass so it was neat, but once I’d done that it was so easy to install. The instructions and all information about this say to use lots of soapy water and you should listen! It slips and slides about until it’s in the right place, then once you are happy simply swipe from the centre to the edges to remove bubble / soapy water. It’s so easy to pull it back off the glass, remove any dirt/lumps and then re-spray and try again.
