## Description

From the manufacturer B205D Ultra-Compact 150-Watt PA/Monitor Speaker System Multi-purpose, 150-Watt, active speaker for vocal and keyboard monitoring, multi-media, press conferences and home recording studio, etc. Revolutionary Class-D amplifier technology: enormous power, incredible sonic performance and super-light weight 5.25 premium-quality, full-range neodymium driver Ultra-low noise 3-channel mixer with 3-band EQ 2 "Invisible" Mic Preamps with phantom power for condenser microphones and 1 instrument-ready input (no DI required) Dedicated stereo input for keyboards, MP3, CD, etc. XLR ''through'' connector with mic/line switch for linking more B205Ds Mic stand integration system for use with stand and boom Integrated limiter for ultimate system control and speaker protection EUROLIVE B205D The ultra-compact B205D packs 150 Watts of amazing Class-D sound into a speaker system so light, you can mount it on a mic stand and aim it right at your ears – for the perfect personal monitor. But don’t let the small size fool you – the B205D cranks out truckloads of high-quality sound; more than enough to serve as a PA system for your more intimate gigs and meetings – and it comes packed with features that will simply blow you away! The Secret to Amazing Sound Thanks to our revolutionary Class-D amplifier technology and internal switch-mode power supplies, not only does the B205D sound incredible, but it weighs considerably less than most competing active loudspeakers. The state-of-the-art amplifications system pumps out 150 of the cleanest, punchiest Watts you’ve ever heard, and you can link additional active loudspeaker systems via the handy Thru socket. The built-in 3-channel mixer accepts XLR, TRS and RCA inputs, plus channel 1 features a switchable instrument-ready input – no DI required! A dedicated 3-band EQ (Low/Mid/High) provides simple, yet effective tonal control. Put the Sound Where You Want It Space limitations often make it impossible to place full-sized monitor wedges where they can do the most good – and passive monitors require lots of external amplifiers and processing gear to function properly. All this adds up to even more gear to move, and if you don’t know what you’re doing, you can easily damage passive monitors by applying too much, or worse, too little power to them. With the B205D we’ve taken all the guesswork out, giving each loudspeaker its own 150-Watt, Class-D amplifier specifically designed as the perfect mate for the custom-engineered 5.25" neodymium driver. Custom-Engineered Drivers Let’s face it; the drivers (otherwise known as speakers) are the only part of a sound system you actually hear. So when it comes to ours, we don’t cut any corners. While some of our competitors outsource theirs, we custom-design and build our speakers from scratch. We wind our own voice coils, process the paper pulp into cones and even machine our own speaker back plates and frames. This enables us to control the quality, keep production costs down and frankly, to make better components. The premium-grade, full-range 5.25" neodymium driver was designed specifically, and optimized solely for use in the B205D. Value The EUROLIVE B205D is the ideal PA/monitor system solution for those occasions calling for high-quality sound – with minimal gear. We dare you to compare the B205D to the competition for sound quality, for its professional features. Stop by your authorized Behringer dealer, or order yours online today!

Review: Great performer, robust and provides all the flexibility I need. - I sing and play rhythm guitar in a band and it became clear I needed a good monitoring solution but also something that would aid personal practice. I was really torn initially as I was thinking about going down the in-ear monitoring root but I don’t like wearing them and it didn’t tick all my boxes so I opted for the Behringer and I’m pleased I did. Below I’ve listed all my requirements and how the Behringer copes with them; 1) Self monitoring vocals in band practice: Brilliant, I just set plug in the mic (via a vocal effects unit) adjust the gain and go for it. We don’t use a PA but It’s loud enough to cope with competing against a drum kit in a compact space. Vocals come across crisp and clear. 2) Self monitoring guitar in band practice: During practice I just plug the guitar in via an effects module that does amp modelling (Zoom G2) and it works a charm with this on one channel and the vocals on the other. In all honesty I prefer the sound that comes out of my Roland Cube 30 but that might be because I need to have a play around with the settings on my effects unit and it means I only have to carry one small unit around instead of a heavy guitar amp and separate vocal PA. 3) Home Practice: Basically set it up the same as in band practice with the added bonus of having a channel to run an additional sound source through (MP3 player etc…). 4) On stage monitoring: Works great! Being a compact unit it’s quite directional which is good from an overall sound on stage perspective as it doesn’t merge too much with everyone else’s sounds. Also means I don’t have to go too loud to complete with everyone else as long as I have it pointed at me. 5) Small and compact: The D205D is beautifully compact, it has some weight in the sense that it feels like a quality item but it’s a lot easier to cart about compared to older style floor wedges I used to have to cart about! Great for practice at home as well, doesn’t take up much room. 6) Robust: Haven’t had it long so can’t attest for longevity but I can see that the product appears very well constructed. The casing is thick hard plastic, the knobs feel well secured and rotate smoothly, buttons and switches work fine and all sockets seem to work well with no looseness. I’m expecting this to last a while and it seems at least as well made of higher end amps and monitors I have used. 7) Solo performance: I may one day decide to do some solo acoustic work, maybe with a backing track. I could do all that and mix it with this unit and simply output it to another active speaker (maybe even another B205D) pointed at the audience. I haven’t done this but you can see how it wouldn’t be a problem to implement and would create an very light weight travelling setup. So a great bit of kit! Surprisingly loud for such a small unit, I know it’s 150w but even still you don’t expect it to perform that well considering I’ve seen bigger hand bags. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a small footprint monitoring solution with some added flexibility of having a couple of channels to play with.
Review: Behringer B205D Eurolive 150W PA/Monitor Speaker System - This is a great piece of equipment for the money through desertcart. I originally purchased it as a feedback monitor for my Korg Pa3X arranger keyboard played through my powered Peavey mixer PA system. The Behringer has three inputs, one I use for the Korg keyboard main sounds, the second can also be a dedicated input for a microphone through which I put my Shure mic, outputted via a separate line out on the Korg, or it can be used for another instrument. The Behringer even has phantom power available for a condenser mic! The third input is for a CD player or computer sound output. There are three EQ controls, three volume controls and the jack for the mic can be standard jack or XLR for condenser mics. There are also two thru outputs on the rear for other speakers or devices. The quality of sound including the vocals is superb and I now use the Behringer on its own as a practice amplifier. When I mix the keyboard sounds and vocals and save them as a song set up on the Korg Pa3X, the sound then played through the Peavey is virtually identical and no further adjustments are needed. The only very small criticism is that on rare occasions on high volume, not surprisingly,it gets overloaded with the accompaniments with some small popping sounds from a drum track, but this is easily eliminated with a little tweaking from the keyboard drum track control. Don't let this put you off buying this fine, versatile piece of equipment from desertcart though! A similar competitive model to this is twice the price with the same facilities! I am going to buy a second Behringer unit through Adesertcart. I can then have stereo keyboard sounds, more power and the two would even work as a back up in the event of a failure in the main system. Behringer B205D Eurolive 150W PA/Monitor Speaker System

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is there some type of carrying case available for the unit?**
A: Not that we could find. There were a couple of soft cases at about $80+ each that claimed to fit them. But there was nothing nothing that would suit our purpose - we needed something pretty robust because we ship our units to events with UPS Ground. We purchased four of these http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CBY2EIO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00 and added a quick and dirty customized foam interior to protect the speaker and accommodate the wireless mike system and amp connecting cable etc. We found that we should have added reinforcing tape around the top of the cases to cover and strengthen the hinge areas. We actually use the amp within the box with the box on its side and the lid open. One of the staff picked a unit up by grabbing the lid and it caused the case to split slightly down the side of the hinge. Heavy-duty reinforced tape fixed the problem and we subsequently added the reinforcement to all the boxes. So far so good. The units have survived a return UPS trip from NH to TX and look to be in good shape and the amps etc. were all in good shape. For shipping we tape around the body so the units can't come open. Been very impressed by the speaker system itself. More than adequate for presentations in 200+ seat rooms. In a 100+ seater we have to drop the volume right down.

**Q: How would I hook up a hard disc recorder for recording thru this?**
A: You have to do that through the rear, all the connections from the front is input based, so that you can connect your line in, be it a microphone, iPod or media player but from the rear, there are two cannon connections, one is designed as a line-out and the second is for looping through a couple of them together, just incase you have a few units to be used all at the same time. So whichever device, you'll love to capture the audio output with, just make sure it has a cable interface with a basic 3pin cannon plug connector, then you connect it to the line-out (not the second connector as that is an input only for looping multiple units together) then the signal will be recorded sweetly. If you are using multiple speakers maybe like 3 or 4 units looped together, then you must connect the recorder to the last speaker box in the loop as the line-out will be free for tethering any recorder. I hope this helps!

**Q: Can this be easily used in Australia with 240v power supply? What would I need?**
A: http://www.behringer.com/assets/B205D_P0957_OI_EN_ES_FR.pdfOn page 19 of this manual, Australia/UK is listed under voltages. I'm not sure if there is a single global model, or whether a unit you buy in the US would have a different power supply than one purchased in Australia.

**Q: Can I use a electric Bass Guitar**
A: You can plug anything you'd like into re 205, but I wouldn't recommend using it for a bass amp. Could be used as a low power practice amp.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good little monitor
*by V***R on 20 October 2023*

Pros: - Good sound with a little EQ tweak (see picture) - Loud enough for a personal monitor in a four-piece pub rock band. - Good build quality. Feels rugged. - Good quality adaptors supplied for mounting on a dedicated or combined stand - Perfect size for pub gigs. - Volume & EQ controls at the front make it so easy to set up even on the fly - Versatile inputs. I guess for when you're using it as a P.A? cons: - Feedback issues when used on the same stand as your mic - Main volume knob rotates with the vibration of normal use I.e. it gets louder as you play. My opinion: I'm really pleased with it. So far it's proving to be better than the floor monitor I used to use and the in-ear solution I also tried. Now I can hear all four vocal mics clearly and that hasn't been the case with the other monitors I've used. The sound is okay. I'd even say 'decent' and you can E.Q it which is a plus in my book. The volume seems plenty loud enough although I have discovered it is best to have a good, powerful signal coming from the desk so I have the Aux-out set to around 7 or 8 then I can run the B205D with it's main volume set at around 6. This gives me some scope to wind it it up a bit if I need to. Having it on a stand right in front of me with the controls at the front is perfect. Particularly when we don't have a lot of time to sound check. If I'm not happy with my stage sound I can make EQ & volume changes quite easily whenever a hand is free. The main volume knob creeping up with vibration is annoying but I'll fix that sometime with a felt washer. Blue-tac in the meantime!
