Test it on a small patch of your floor and leave it to dry. The colour should now be as expected so make sure you’re happy with it. I re-coat every 3 to 4 years or so. For best results remove ALL grease off the floor as this is a water based paint (the grease will throw the paint off). Also properly shake the tin as the pigments settle in transit and sat on the shelf, fail to shake and you’ll be painting with basically water. I always use a mini emulsion roller (long handle) to apply and it always comes up even and beautiful looking. The whiteness is spot on and the soft satin sheen is perfect. When I painted the bare wood for the 1st time I gave it 4 light coats (don’t try to cut corners and put on heavy, the paint will lift. All in easy to apply, lasts a long time and is virtually odorless. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good, but… *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 18 December 2022* Good product but multiple coats are needed. I have followed instructions and added 3 coats. Definitely not enough… wood was still showing as the paint is soooooo sheer. After 4th coat I gave up and added coat of heard-wearing wall paint and added 3 more coats of Ronseal paint on top. Stairs look great now, surface is strong and easy to clean.
