Care is needed to wash it as the cork ring doesn't come off (you might manage to get it off, but the suggestion is to just leave it there and wash the glass part carefully by hand) and it will certainly deteriorate with use, but it looks and feels fantastic. The glass part looks and feels so great that I often use it at home without the lid. It's great on the go too, the lid itself has been upgraded quite a bit and it now features two different kinds of plastic, a hard one for the main body and a rubbery one near all the places where it joins glass or other plastic (you can't really see this in the photos as with this specific colour combination they're both dark grey), so it now seals much better than the old version did, it's really really difficult to have the coffee pour out of it. The little lip (wasn't there in the old version) makes it easy to open the lid, the sipping hole is a tiny bit bigger now, and it feels just as big as it needs to be. The small lid that seals the sipping hole now locks into place and can't be removed when sealed. All in all, this is a great upgrade, all the problematic points of the old KeepCup have been addressed thoroughly. Regarding smells that some people complain it retains: OK the plastic lid does retain some coffee smell if you keep it closed with coffee for hours and it does spoil the taste just a tiny bit (hey, it's just a bit of plastic, it's not magical) but it washes really well and doesn't smell afterwards.
