They can be close again after use. Recommend it. The best is always water and cotton wool, however this is not practical. Since changing wipes to the one with 99 % and more water and less chemical, I no longer have any problem without nappy rash and in fact I don't even need to use any barrier cream for my baby. There is a few product in the market with less chemical and high percentage of water. These have a nice amount of moisture and barely scented. I have sensitive skin and these don't irritate.
