Really useful for small spindle turned items where it’s small size gets into tight curves ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good item but not what I wanted *by R***A on 27 January 2014* Arrived well before the predicted date. Well packed in a huge box. Problem is that even though the label says roughing out gouge it describes it's use as 'to scoop out and cut deep U grooves in spindle turning and making holes' and it looks like an 8mm spindle gouge (made from round bar stock with a shallow flute) and not a roughing gouge made from forged flat stock as in the picture on Amazon. I shall be keeping it as it's a good price for a spindle gouge of this size and seems well made with a fingernail profile.
