**Q: Why does a stainless steel product need anti-rust oil? Low Chromium, then?**
A: Stainless steel is more resistant to rust than other alloys; it is not 100% incapable of rusting. A protective coating of oil is a reasonable precaution for any steel object, especially in situations like shipping and transfer to customers where the vendor is not directly in control of the conditions the item is subjected to. It cannot be reasonably used as an indication of product quality or alloy composition.

**Q: Why is one guage yellow?**
A: My yellow blade is .010. There is another silver .010 next to it. May be a reference point to find blade size.

**Q: How wide are blades?**
A: The thickness gauge has dimensions (each blade) 1/2" x 3 1/2"

**Q: Why does amazon continue to permit them to claim "stainless steel feeler gauge" when they are clearly not stainless ?**
A: They lie and Amazon allows it!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good but DRENCHED in oil

Bought these for some guitar restoration work I've been doing and they're decent. I don't fully understand the ordering of the depths but I'm assuming that's done to protect the smaller (incredibly thin!) feelers from being damaged. The product description says "there is some anti-rust oil on the stainless steel feeler gauge to prevent it from rust[ing]". 'Some' is an understatement. Mine arrived COATED in the stuff, to the point that I wouldn't go near a guitar body or fretboard with them without some pretty thorough cleaning first. These feel like they were designed with car mechanics in mind not luthiering work. However, they're a good price, nicely engineered and have a good range of depths. Recommended but if you're using them on anything other than a greasy engine, prepare yourself for a thorough clean first.
